During our Asia tour, we spent 7 days in the Maldives. The Maldives has some of the clearest waters with spectacular snorkeling and diving. We continued on to Thailand where we learned about Thai culture and the interesting aspect of Buddhism. After Thailand, we spent 3 days in Cambodia learning about old history (12th century) and recent history. The recent history was very disturbing and made us all think about how much the Cambodian people have suffered during the Pol Pot Regime and how fortunate we are to live in a free state. The images were so shocking that we felt it necessaey to share someof our photos in this section. Please use your discretion in deciding whether to share these images with Jack and Julia's friends. Our final stop in this part of Southeast Asia was Indonesia where we learned about Balanese culture and had an opportunity to visit schools. We spent a day shopping in a local market to buy ingredience and cook traditional Balanese foods. Our cooking class took place in a family compound and was a memorable experience.
